Happy Sunday from a rainy and cold Santa Cruz! It was a great first weekend in the country. We spent it playing with the girls, going to the market, and worshiping in a local church. Here are so pictures from the weekend.

It's rainy season here and it poured down most of the day so the road to the girls home made for a fun walk after church today :)
After about 20 hrs of travel we made it safely to Santa Cruz! It was so nice to step off the plane and being greeted with 60 degree weather and a nice breeze in contrast to the 100 + weather we have been having in Texas :). We just arrived at the home where we will be staying for at least the first few days and it is pretty nice! We are headed out to see the girls at the orphanage and have lunch with them in a few minutes. Thank you all for your prayers and support!
Tomorrow afternoon my friend and I will embark on a new adventure the Lord has set before us. The goodbyes have begun and it's so bittersweet saying goodbye to those I love and care about so deeply and yet knowing that when my time in Santa Cruz has ended that there will be just as many difficult goodbyes. The Lord has called us to love on the least of these and care for the needy. How can we do anything less when this is what God has done for us, His undeserving, wayward children? It is a privilege and a burden to fulfill God's call and yet my heart is ready. I don't know what this next month will hold but I pray that whatever it entails, I will be found more in love with my Jesus, more thirsty for His Word, and having a new vision for the work He has called me to. Thank you for your faithful prayers and words of encouragement, they mean more than you will ever know! I will update as often as I am able :)
